D&G Women's - S/S 12 -

Hello Floral Print

So D&G has hit the catwalk with there Spring/Summer collection 2012 and they have gone all out with there traditional floral prints and patterns. They certainly havent hesitated with there colour pallet either,
Reds, Yellows, Oranges, Purples, Blues, Greens.....the list could go on.
The garment shape and style reminded me very much of the whole 1950's slightly 1920's era with there well fitted tailored skirts and jackets. Not forgetting the lightweight blouses and cut of crop tops. The collection is extremely feminin and holds a strong fun feeling any woman would be proud to wear!!
D&G has definitely thought of every little detail too with there flower button detail and transparent belts allowing the strong prints to flow together.

Here are another two pieces from the collection that is totally inspired by the 1920's & there glamours ways!...A simple, plain coloured garment that has be detailed with coloured Gems & Small beads to hold a stylish customised look! Wear the skirt with a plain top and the top with a simple pair of trousers or jeans for full impact!!

Vivienne Westwood ♥

So when i sent my eyes on her A/W11 collection i was in heaven! Her use of striking jewel tones for colouring, eye catching shapes, materials, components and patterns work perfectly together to create a magical look and feel.

The models held a characteristic style with there oversized accessories, theatrical make up, styled hair and props as they strutted down the runway.

The garments can be worked in so many ways, part of the reason im so in love! Anything from casual day wear to partying on the town can be made perfect with the structure and style she has gone for.
I could go on for days talking about this magical woman and the clothes she produces but my fingers would ache!! Make sure you have a look at the show on her website, its prue beauty!!

This women never fails to surprise me, her collections are amazingly stunning and she is the queen of fashion in my eyes...x

These three images are of my first complete garment. This denim skirt with added detail has been created from an old pair of jeans that i deconstructed. I selected the bottom of the jeans to cut the skirt pieces from as the hem was something i wanted to include into the design of the skirt. I then altered the original waistband of the skirt to the size i wanted to use, before adding the floral material to the middle and the ruffled floral hem around  the bottom. After i had created the basic garment i wanted to add a small piece of extra detail, so i cut a small part of the floral fabric and placed it onto the skirt before adding stitching and sequins to finish the look.

This garment is exactly what i wanted to create to fit in with my brief.
I love the first piece to my collection <3

Hand Me Downs

So...I know i haven't written on here in a while but i have been busy cracking on with my collection, which is finally taking shape. I have managed to get my hands on some brilliant clothing and i have been busy creating some stylish little garments ever since!!(all of which i have photographed & should be on here soon). I am really enjoying this project that i decided on myself and i am going to continue with it, allowing it to grow into something that can be seen and experienced by everyone.
So enough of my chat.....& more of the images!!

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN EXCLUSIVE MULTI-SKULL SCARF - ♥

Whilst browsing the Alexander McQueen website i came across this little beauty!! An exclusive, limited edition multi-skull scarf that consists of 5 different skulls from a variety of different collections. The scarf was designed & created to celebrate Alexander McQueen - Savage Beauty at The Metropolitan Museum Of Art (New York).  Savage Beauty is an exhibition organized by The Costume Institute to celebrate the late Alexander McQueen & his extraordinary contributions to fashion . The exhibit consists of his Central Saint Martins postgraduate collection of 1992 to his final runway presentation, which took place after his death in February 2010.
The exhibit looks AMAZING....If only it was being shown when i visited the museum last year!!
This scarf is an accessory that would finish any outfit or look with its use of color and elegance. One thing is for sure, i need to get me on of these but priced at £290.00 i need to start saving!!!
